A frozen pizza that's made in Italy and sold for roughly the price of a delivery pie is showing up in a handful of Costco freezers.
Botticelli Foods has launched its Neapolitan Margherita Pizza as a Costco exclusive this October, and it's only available for a limited time at select locations.
What's on the Pizza
The pizza starts with a chewy Neapolitan-style crust and Botticelli's own Margherita Pizza Sauce, then adds mozzarella, Pecorino Romano, and fresh basil. It's handcrafted in Naples, Italy, and baked in a traditional wood-fired oven. According to the brand, it's then frozen using a patented cryogenic process that's designed to lock in quality.
How It Cooks
The box says each pizza bakes in less than 10 minutes, making it a quick option for weeknights or late-night cravings.
What It Costs
Each pack includes two pizzas and runs around $15, which works out to a bit over $7 a pizza. That's a good deal compared with most delivery pizza chains.
Where to Find It
The pizza is exclusive to Costco and only available at select warehouses in Southern California (including Greater Los Angeles and San Diego), Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. It's available while supplies last, so it's worth checking your local warehouse before making a special trip.
What Shoppers Are Saying
Early reaction on social media has been enthusiastic, with shoppers sharing photos of the box and calling the pizza one of the best they've had.
A Homemade Option for Everyone Else
If you don't live in one of those states, Botticelli sells its Margherita Pizza Sauce separately, so you can build a similar pizza at home. Pair it with your favorite pizza dough, fresh sliced mozzarella, and basil, and bake it on a pizza stone for a result that's close to the original.
The Takeaway
If you're in one of the four launch markets, a two-pack of Neapolitan-style pizza for about $15 could be one of the easier freezer finds of the season. Since it's a limited-time exclusive, it's worth grabbing a box or two while you see them.
