Halloween Happy Meals are about to get a lot more wicked.
McDonald's is teaming up with Disney to bring back its Boo Buckets on October 20, and this year's collectible pails are built around five of Disney's best-known villains.
Meet the Lineup
The new Boo Buckets come in five collectible designs, each featuring a different character: Jafar, Ursula, Scar, Cruella, and Maleficent. The buckets span a mix of colors, including orange, white, purple, green, and red, and each one has a villain-inspired lid and an illustration of its character.
Stickers Included
Every bucket comes with a sticker sheet for decorating it. The stickers are unique to each character's movie and include details McDonald's says true fans will recognize, so kids and collectors can customize their pails before heading out trick-or-treating.
A Halloween Tradition With a Long History
Boo Buckets first debuted in 1986, when the original designs were orange pails with jack-o'-lantern and monster faces. They disappeared from menus in 2016 before returning in 2022, and they've been part of McDonald's Halloween season every year since. Last year's set featured classic Ghost, Pumpkin, and Goblin designs along with two new characters, Cat and Zombie.
How to Get One
The buckets are available with the purchase of a Happy Meal at participating McDonald's locations, so they aren't sold on their own. They're offered for a limited time while supplies last, which means popular designs could go quickly.
Where and When to Get It
The Disney Villains Boo Buckets arrive on Tuesday, October 20, at participating McDonald's restaurants nationwide. Availability may vary by location, so it's worth checking with your local restaurant before making a special trip.
The Takeaway
Collectors will want to move quickly, and parents may want to plan ahead if their kids have a favorite villain. With five designs to track down and a limited supply, this is one Halloween collectible that could be hard to complete.
