Ingredients
1 cup sauerkraut
½ cup diced corned beef
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 pcs eggs
½ cup breadcrumbs
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 cup mayonnaise
¼ cup ketchup
2 tablespoons hot sauce
1 tablespoon pickle relish
½ cup vegetable oil
Directions
1.
Preheat oil in a deep-frying pan to 350°F. Make sure you use enough oil to fully immerse the Reuben balls.
2.
In a large bowl, mix sauerkraut, corned beef, Swiss cheese, flour, one egg, and black pepper until combined.
3.
Shape the mixture into small balls, approximately 1.5 inches in diameter, ensuring each ball is tightly packed.
4.
Whisk the remaining egg in a separate bowl and put breadcrumbs on a plate for coating each Reuben ball.
5.
Dip each ball into the beaten egg, then roll it in breadcrumbs, making sure they are coated evenly.
6.
Fry the balls in preheated oil for around 3 to 5 minutes or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove.
7.
Place the fried balls on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Allow them to cool slightly.
8.
For the dressing, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, hot sauce, and pickle relish in a small bowl. Mix until smooth.
9.
Serve the fried Reuben balls with the spicy Thousand Island dressing on the side for dipping.
